Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain (SIE) has reached a collaboration agreement with Lanzadera, the accelerator belonging to the Marina de Empresas and promoted by the businessman Juan Roig with private capital, to launch a new PlayStation Games Camp headquarters in Valencia, the program of PlayStation, whose objective is "to promote the talent of the Valencian Community in the sector of the videojuegos".
The studios that want to be part of PlayStation Games Camp Valencia can present their projects on the web until January 15, 2017, as reported by Lanzadera in a statement.
The program, which aims to encourage the creation of new companies, is open to small studios, university students and young developers, as well as companies that have invoiced less than 100,000 euros in the last year. A maximum of three studios can work for free in the Marina de Empresas space starting in February of next year to see their games published on PlayStation 4 (PS4).
For ten months, the studios will have the advice of SIE experts from both Spanish and internationally renowned figures, will have access to PS4 development kits and will have support in communication and marketing to promote the title in view of its launch, with a campaign in own media valued at more than 100,000 euros. Games Camp Valencia joins the venues that the company has in other cities such as Madrid, Seville and Bilbao.
Synergies and results
The head of Local Development of SIE Iberian, Roberto Yeste, stressed that "the Games Camp initiative is gaining strength and with this new headquarters in Valencia we cover a large part of the national territory so that independent studios have the opportunity and support necessary to take your projects to light. "
Yeste added: "We are sure that the alliance with an accelerator such as Lanzadera will create very productive synergies and we will soon see great results."
For his part, the CEO of Lanzadera, Javier Jiménez, stressed that they are "proud" of being able to announce this collaboration "with a company such as SIE Spain and its pioneering program PlayStation Talents".
"Together we will offer support, support and training for the development of the videogame industry", said Jiménez, who pointed out that "Valencia has already proven to be a source of very innovative projects in the sector, such as Codigames, participated by Angels, or MadPlay Games, accelerated in the Lanzadera Program of this present edition ".
