Cloud computing generates value in the company thanks to digital exchange
The adoption of services in the cloud by Spanish companies has experienced a "great growth" in the last year, since 79.5% of companies account in 2016 with cloud applications, compared to 18.9% in 2015 , according to a study by the company specializing in comprehensive Bitglass data protection.
The report shows that Spain, together with France (82.1%) and the Netherlands (78.2%), have the highest rates of adoption of applications in the cloud, while the United Kingdom (54.5%) and Germany (63.5%) have a lower penetration.
This week, SAP and Meliá Hotels International announced today the signing of a strategic agreement by which the hotel multinational will move its infrastructure and business management applications and outsource the management of them to the SAP private cloud offer.
This alliance, signed for a period of five years, and which includes SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, is part of Meliá's digital transformation and renewal strategy and represents a step forward in the collaboration between both companies.
Nowadays, companies have to work at a higher speed to be competitive. Technological environments have been gaining in complexity and may hinder the growth of business. For that reason, one of the objectives that Meliá had set as part of its transformation process was to simplify its application environment, for which it considered fundamental the change to a private cloud model. And in this new stage, he has decided to continue trusting SAP and his private cloud.
Hand in hand with SAP, Meliá will reduce its technological infrastructure in order to allocate more resources to manage the key aspects of its business. By choosing a rental model of both the applications, infrastructure and management thereof, costs will be significantly reduced, since you only pay for what you use, you will increase efficiency by working with a single provider and will gain in flexibility by increasing the size of the project based on business needs.
