Technology companies create a network to identify terrorist sensors
The main technological multinationals of the United States have united to collaborate in the fight against terrorism with the creation of a base of photos and videos to stop the capture of future terrorists.
"There is no place for content that promotes terrorism in our services," explained Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter and YouTube in a joint statement: "When we find an alert, we react quickly according to our respective policies."
These four companies will create a shared database that identifies images through a single fingerprint, making it easier for platforms to identify and eliminate them.
However, the images are not automatically deleted, but are reviewed by a team of experts from each company to monitor if it violates the terms of service of the companies.
Social networks have faced criticism this year for doing too little to prevent their platforms from being used to spread terrorist propaganda. Amid the pressure of the European Union, the companies agreed this year to eliminate the content of a 24-hour period if it qualifies as hate speech or propaganda.
