Twitter launches 360-degree streaming
The function is in tests for a select group of tweeters
With a few months of delay, the 360 comes to Twitter. Facebook and YouTube have been experimenting with this type of moving images for some time, but the microblogging network wants to go a step further and implement it in its streaming service.
Twitter is working to incorporate Periscope and has given access to this tool to a small group of famous tweeters. They will be the ones who test these live videos, which allow the viewer to turn the screen to enjoy any possible angle.
The first user to try Periscope in 360 degrees has been Alex Pettitt (@Alexpettitt), who has offered its users a 360 degree view of a sunset on the coast of Florida, in the United States.
Consuming this type of videos in 360 degrees is very simple: just click and drag on the screen to rotate the camera if we see it through the computer or simply turn the 'smartphone' to enjoy different angles and perspectives. At the time of recording, it is still unknown how to do it.
The company has not given more details about it and it is not yet known if this tool will end up being offered in the short term to the rest of users of the social network.
The news comes shortly after Facebook tests live broadcasts in 360 degrees through 'Facebook Live'.
